Signed handwritten letter from Lloyd Bucher, dated 18 July 1988, to Mr. Fawls, regarding the handling of the capture of USS Pueblo in 1968 by Navy officials in Washington, DC. Bucher voices his support for Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North and asserts that he should have received a pardon. He expresses admiration for Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral William Crowe.

William J. Crowe graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1947 and earned an M.A. and Ph.D. from Princeton university. A submariner, he was senior adviser to the Vietnamese navy Riverine Force and in 1973 was promoted to rear admiral. In 1980, he was promoted to admiral and was Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Forces Southern Europe. In 1985, he served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a position he held until he retired in 1989. Crowe served as ambassador to the United Kingdom from 1994...
